TM Forum Frameworx 17.0 for ARIS

TM Forum Frameworx is an enterprise architecture framework for telecom industries, it embraces eTOM, TAM, and SID. TM Forum is the organization that owns the intellectual property on Frameworx and continuously maintains its contents. TransWare AG, as a member and partner of TM Forum, has made Frameworx accessible to the modeling tool Software AG® ARIS®. Our product TM Forum Frameworx for ARIS is two things: A one-to-one translation of the Frameworx source to ARIS and a Frameworx filter and template. The Frameworx ARIS data currently include the meta-data-rich models and object contents of eTOM, TAM, and partly SID.

All you need is ARIS as of version 9.x or 10.x or higher.

Below you see some examples from eTOM and TAM in the ARIS tool. The well-known entry-level diagram is All Frameworx Start Here:

The group structure reflects the sub-frameworks eTOM, TAM, and SID (partly). Related models are contained in groups whose names correspond to the according model types. So, you can for instance see eTOM diagram groups of different types and levels (1, 2, …). We have also added groups for Mappings (eTOM to SID), Metrics (Business Metrics) and Miscellaneous other models:

ARIS FX 17 Explorer

Selecting a model in the Explorer lists all object occurrences:

When you open the Properties dialog all object occurrences in other diagrams are shown and can be navigated:

On a high level eTOM processes are shown with assignments to models on lower levels:

All Frameworx models have a specific model type. Whenever possible, the slightly customized BPMN process diagram (BPMN 2.0) is used:

Following another assignment you drill-down to level 4:

The value of Frameworx not only is reflected in models, but also in the object meta-data which are translated as custom attribute types:ARIS FX 17 eTOM attributes
